Dance Teacher Profile – Suzanne Huntingdon

Suzanne Huntingdon - Hayley Nadine Dance AcademySuzanne grew up in Northampton and began dancing at the age of 3 years at Parkside Independent School, training in RAD and ISTD Ballet and ISTD Modern and Tap to Advanced 2 level.

Kick starting her professional career at the young age of 8, she performed in pantomimes at the Royal and Derngate Theatres, Northampton including ‘Beauty and the Beast’, ‘Cinderella’ and various shows with the Northampton Amateur Dramatics Society such as ‘Oliver’, ‘Oklahoma’ and ‘Hello Dolly’. Other professional credits at this age include appearing in BBC production of ‘Blackhearts of Battersea’, modeling for Adams clothing in their fashion show and dancing at Birmingham NEC for an Avon perfume launch.

Suzanne has competed in festivals all over the country including the All England Dance Finals in London and has obtained many medals for the same. Not limited to dancing, Suzanne had a passion for the performing arts no matter what the forum and also participated in various LAMDA drama exams and festivals through the years.

At age 16, Suzanne auditioned and was accepted to the prestigious London Studio Centre, to further her training in the performing arts where she gained her Foundation Degree in Dance Theatre and History. In her third year of college, Suzanne decided to specialize in contemporary dance and went on a UK tour with ‘Intoto’ Dance Company under the direction of Sally Owen, working for choreographers such as Nuno Silva, Michael Popper and Steve Pelton.

Since graduating, Suzanne has performed in many professional theatre shows, casinos and cruise ships the world over, working for companies such as Main Feature Productions, Showstoppers Worldwide, Dolly Dollies and The Vegas Showgirls. In 2008, Suzanne took to the seas and joined Costa Cruises Entertainment as a professional dancer and continued to work for them for the next 4 years, appearing in productions that included: ‘Lipstick and Lace’, ‘Rock and Roll Legends’, Cinemagique’, ‘Celebration’ and ‘Magic Moments’. She was promoted to Head Dancer in 2010 and Production Manager in 2011.

After fulfilling her childhood dreams of becoming a professional dancer and seeing the world, Suzanne decided to return home to pursue another dream of hers…to become a dance teacher. Suzanne is a qualified Zumba B1 instructor and is looking to further her teacher training.
